Sustainability at CLP
At Chelmsford Learning Partnership, we are committed to creating sustainable and responsible learning environments that have a positive impact on the communities we serve.
Our Climate Action Plan 2026-2027 provides a shared framework for action across the Trust, helping our schools to understand and respond to climate change while preparing children and young people for a more sustainable future.
Our work focuses on four key areas:
- Decarbonisation: reducing emissions, improving energy and water efficiency and supporting sustainable travel
- Biodiversity: enhancing our school grounds, creating habitats and strengthening pupils’ connection with nature
- Adaptation and resilience: preparing our schools and estates for the effects of climate change, including extreme weather
- Climate education: developing pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding so they can make a positive contribution to a sustainable future
Through our network of Sustainability Leads, schools work collaboratively to share effective practice, develop their own Climate Action Plans and turn our Trust-wide ambitions into meaningful local action.
